Welcome to Natural Homesteading!

Tom and Josiah harvesting our raspberries, it only took them six hours!

Journey with us as we explore bee keeping, gardening, wildcrafting, cheese making, homemade soaps (including laundry detergent), creams, and home remedies.  Did you know that honey is a natural topical antibiotic?  Learn how to make your own natural bug repellent without deet.  Make your own cheeses and butter (easy!).  How about saving SO much money on flowers for your wedding by not using a florist?  Grow your own flowers!!

We offer everything from tips in your garden to home projects/handyman fixit stuff, which everyone needs!  We even offer secrets to communal living which is our living style right now. These are exciting days, you do not have to be stuck in a business only, nose to the grindstone rut;  come with us on our journey. We invite you to try some of our recipes, hints, and ideas for yourself or just read about our every day lives, successes, and maybe once in a while, failures.

We had one chicken that laid an egg this size at least twice a week!

Our customers loved it!

Our winter weekend way up north.  We visited state parks and the beach on Lake Huron.  It was beautiful to be sure, but cold, cold, cold!!!

We usually don't vacation where there's snow, I didn't even know how to pack (I kept wanting to throw in my bathing suit)!   But it was quite an adventure and we had a lovely time.

Featured Tip of the Trade

To preserve fresh eggs coat them in mineral oil and repack in the carton.  A facebook fan also suggested coating them in vegetable oil. Store in a cool, dry, dark place. These will keep from 7-12 months!
