Is there anything more deliciously wonderful than spending the evening with your girlfriends eating Coconut and Chocolate Cream pie and watching  JULIE JULIA?  Maybe all you men folk wouldn't appreciate this much but I'll tell ya, I sure did!  None of us girls (Bethany, Celia, Shalom, and I) had seen this movie but we wanted to.  My girlfriend Angela hadn't seen it either so we decided to have a girls night.  Angela had baked us a pie a few weeks ago that was DELICIOUS so her secret "passwork" for coming to girls night was to bake another pie....Celia's request........  :) We were joking when we told her this but she took us up on it. We aren't talking about out of the box pudding mix cream pies, we are talking about straight from the cookbook cream pies and I'm telling ya, they were wonderful! We dug into those pies like there would never be another pie again on this earth.  We had a piece of each kind and they weren't tiny pieces either, they were good size.  We savored every bite along with the Julia's.  Doesn't that movie just make you want to make a career out of eating?  We sat and giggled, oohhed and awwed over little details in the movie, and wished we had more room for our own pie!  The funny thing is, later when we were saying goodbye to Angela we were back digging into the pie leftovers!! Thank you, dear friend for all of the love spent in the kitchen making those pies and for the sweet companionship last Wednesday, and every day for that matter!!!

I just realized in the past couple weeks that there is a definite difference in fabric softener.  The smell is the biggest thing I noticed.  I get what ever fabric softener is on sale or I have a coupon for.  They all seem pretty much the same as far as softness goes but the smell this time was pretty sweet and kind of sickening, you know sickening sweet.  I tried and tried to like it.  I would smell it when the clothes were wet, you know to try and like it, then when it was on our clothes dried, I tried to even smell it from a different angle, to no avail, it was still stinky!  And of course I had to get the biggest bottle they make so this one lasted for honkin ever it feels like!!!  Thank the Lord I used up the last of it just today.  You know I couldn't throw the stuff out just because of the smell but I'll tell you what, I surely didn't put water in the empty bottle to rinse it out this time like I always do, this time I threw it out as soon as I could. Next time I'm going to take an extra minute to make really really sure I like the smell, because I don't want to have to do that again!

Tom and the boys are just getting home from loading up the last of our "great $50.00 deal."  Remember a few weeks ago when I told you all that Tom bought a two story, two stall garage, some Anderson windows, knotty pine, and doors at an auction for $50.00?  It certainly has been a long haul for my men tearing everything down and out but they are finally wrapping it up today.  This is it, what ever we didn't get out of there will be torn down with the rest of the buildings tomorrow.  Tom has hired an Amish guy to do our excavating and foundation for us.  He won't be able to get started for 6-8 weeks but we have plenty to do until then.  Did I tell you all that we are planning on having a little business selling flowers out here next spring?  Lord willing, that is.....bedding plants, bushes and trees.  I'm very excited.  I sure hope you all find the time to visit us once we're up and running! I'll keep you posted on our progress.

The snow is here now in our part of the country and I always say I think I should be hibernating every winter but maybe I've come up with a better idea, how about lets all get together for another girls night?  :)

Blessings on finding your rich, homespun heritage!
